About

I grew up sailing, racing, and instructing on the River Fal, spending evenings and weekends on the water whenever possible. I competed in my first Fastnet Race at 16.

I have seven years of marine industry experience, logging over 56,000 nautical miles. This includes four years aboard a 39m original J Class yacht and one year on a high-performance 65m world-cruising ketch, alongside racing on TP52s, large-scale refits, and extensive servicing work. Croft Marine Solutions was founded from this background, where precision, reliability, and accountability have always been non-negotiable.

Career highlights include racing in the Rolex Middle Sea Race, Maxi Yacht Rolex World Championship, and Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, as well as visiting Greenland’s fjords and completing six Atlantic crossings.

Now based back home in Cornwall, I bring that same level of professionalism to local vessels—supporting owners, skippers, and boatyards with dependable electrical and electronic work.

Working Approach

Every project is planned before work begins.

Clients can expect:

  • Clear communication from first contact to completion

  • Clean, well-organised installations

  • Fully documented systems for future servicing

All work is carried out with safety and long-term reliability as the priority — ensuring systems remain accessible, understandable, and serviceable well beyond installation.

Work is aligned with BMEEA standards, with a focus on building efficient, future-proof systems. Where possible, materials are reused or responsibly recycled during refit and upgrade projects. All work is fully insured and carried out in accordance with current industry best practices.
